Swim Camp

***This is not an iFamily-sponsored event, but a Tracy-sponsored event. All local homeschoolers along with friends from out of the area are welcome to register.

As of 9:45 on February 27, swimming lesson spots are full. You can still sign up for swimming lesson spots and I will fill any openings with people from the waiting list. I am working on getting more teachers so we can have more children in lessons and sometimes people need to change their plans and spots become available.

And coming without kiddos in lessons is a wonderful option. You get to sleep in, have a relaxing morning, and then swim from noon until night!

Registration opens on Monday, February 27 at 8:00 a.m. Camping and lesson spots often fill quickly.

We will be holding the 14th Annual Homeschool Swim Camp June 5 – June 9 at Downata Hot Springs which is located 93 miles south of Idaho Falls. Arrival will be Monday morning and departure will be Friday by 2:00 p.m.

You can read about Downata on their website. There is a swimming pool, water slides, cafe, swings, horseshoes, basketball, volleyball, and more. Best of all, the lovely, clean locker rooms have individual dressing rooms, multiple toilets, and multiple warm showers. It is a beautiful facility and the last three years there have proved to be lots of fun!

We will have space for 80 students in swimming lessons, so register quickly if you want lessons. Lessons will be filled on first registered basis. Those registrations that exceed our teacher/student ratio will be put on a waiting list. Swimming lessons will be $55/child and will include six one-hour lessons and a daily swim/slide pass for Monday – Thursday. Lessons are available for students age 5 – 100. Lessons will be one hour long and students will have either one or two lessons per day, depending on the day of the week. Monday and Wednesday will be one lesson and Tuesday and Thursday will be two lessons. We have the pool from 10:00 – 12:00 on Monday and Wednesday and from 8:00 – 12:00 on Tuesday and Thursday. Then the pool will be open to the public from 12:00 – 9:00.

People who are not in swimming lessons can swim/slide for $7.00/day and 2-year olds and younger are $1.50.

Camping prices can be found on Downata’s website under Rates and a map of the campground is located here. We are planning on camping in the teepees, Cowboy Hangout, RV spots 10-39 with tents being in spots T10 – T16, and Group Tent Area 4 (which will hold 5 tents and has power!) and any additional tents being over near the teepees and cowboy hangout. All RV sites will accommodate up to 32 feet RV’s. Sites 20, 30, 32-49 will accommodate up to 40 feet.

This is a change from the past few years as we will not be renting Group Area 1. If there is a demand for it, I can change our reservation, but at this point, I am planning on not reserving it so that more of our group can enjoy the shade and trees of the RV area.

Each camping spot is allowed one car, if you have additional cars there is a $5.00 fee. Each family that attends our Swim Camp also needs to pay a $5 shelter fee that goes towards the rental of a pavilion.

If you have any questions about camping spots, just email me at raiseyourjoys@gmail.com and I will try to help you find the best spot for your family. If you would like to arrive on Sunday, that is fine. We just have to make sure your camping spot is available for that night. You can pay for five nights of camping and I will put you in a spot it will work.

I need to pay for our complete camping fees upfront. Please fill out the Registration Form below and then you will receive a notification with payment instructions. You need to pay for your camping now, but you can pay for your lessons by May 1.

Please fill out this form and then go to Paypal to send in your deposit.
