Description:Hello there Ifamily Parents and Students, my name is Danny Sasser and I will be teaching “Blender 101, an introduction to 3D”
(a more customized and interesting version of this description can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kzbs92HyzlphpNofWAzlp2L67OwxWUoXuTPEvOtqyXI/edit?usp=sharing )
For anybody unfamiliar with 3D artwork and animation, it is the practice of creating an object, character, or scene, in a three dimensional environment, and bringing it to life with movements, shapes, lighting and much more, when thinking about 3D work, think Pixar movie but on a smaller scale. I do all of my work in a program called "Blender 3D" and that is what I will be teaching this class about.
Blender 3D is a free open source program that has been developed over the course of the last 18 years as a 3D modeling, animating, and texturing environment for artists. It can be a rather daunting task to start on 3D art as a hobby, so I will be taking Students through all the basics of 3D modeling, texturing, and animating to the point where they can competently call themselves a 3D artist (If they stick with the art that is)
Phase. What phase is this class designed for? If you are unsure, please ask a board member.Love-Of-Learning

Mentor Bio(s): Hi, I'm Danny Sasser I have done Ifamily for two years and have taught multiple computer science classes at my local library, I have four years experience in Blender 3D, working mostly in the Animation and Modeling areas of the 3D field, I also have two fully animated shorts under my belt and one large Sci-fi themed animation coming up this year. I'm excited to teach people about what interests me and show them the ropes of this incredible medium of art and entertainment.
Hi my name is Benson Versey, I am 15 years old, I am a good friend of Danny’s, and plan on teaching with him on the basics of blender. I have used blender for 3 years now, and have found it is an easy and fun way to make small movies, animations, and cool and fun designs. In this class I hope to help the students learn to do all of these things and to mabey inspire them to find a career in it. But above all I just want them to have fun and learn new things.
